Its finally November, what some declare as the peak month for Lake Erie Steelhead. October wasn't all that bad, if November is better everyone look out!
This past week most of the Erie tributaries dropped to low clear conditions, offering some excellent dead drifted, skated and skittering techniques for dry fly action. The Catt is finally getting to nice levels for wade fishing. Numbers of fish through the system are hit and miss. If you get to the right spot at the right time you can lay into some excellent action. The Catt will be fishable until the next heavy rains, which aren't in the forecast until Thursday of this upcoming week. Now is the time to get out and fish this great tributary.
The trout fishing on the Clarion river remains excellent this fall. The flows will continue to drop as this week continues making conditions tough. The Allegheny remains high and difficult to fish.
See you on the Catt this week. Time to break out the two handed and swing some flies.
