Calm days, with a slight summer breeze have allowed for smooth conditions on the large pools of the Allegheny this week. In the tailouts and edges of these pools, small schools of brown trout have been cruising, picking off spent caddis, BWO's and other surface foods. Using the drift boat we've been hunting these pools for the opportunity to cast dries to finicky, feeding browns. Long leaders, Light tippets and properly presented dries have fantastic rewards. See you on the river.
